It all began at age forty-five with what is now termed a near-death experience. For me, it was an experience into The Light that would lead to the death of my former self. That first mystical experience, followed immediately by a five-day visit of a physically embodied Master, occurred during Easter Season of 1981.
During Holy week, the inner realms appeared visible even to my physical eyes. Celestial music flooded my hearing. Radiant Light shone within my home and poured through my body. Many revelations of things to come were presented through inner visions as well as confirmed by conversations with the Master. My soul was freed, and it sped joyously into countless spheres of Light far from these dense vibrations of Earth. I learned unmistakably that I had come to Earth with a specific spiritual mission and was no longer to pursue my profession as artist and teacher.
In those few precious days of elation and ecstasy, of overwhelming gratitude and soul-rendered awe, I naively thought my joy and willingness were enough, then and there, to begin The Work. No wonder the Master spoke little when my eager, yet unaware self, repeatedly asked, “When? Where? How?
But such Sacred Service was not to be that quickly entered while I was yet so spiritually unaware. There lay ahead many trials and tests to be endured and overcome. Four and a half years of intensive inner training, personal purification and preparation would be required before ever the Masters of Wisdom began to relay Their beautiful spiritual teachings, which have continued to be the very foundation of Aquarius service to The Plan of Light.
Those early pain-filled, mentally agonizing years were just the beginning of a fourteen-year period of total renunciation. I did not set out consciously to become a renunciate. In fact, I didn’t even know the term or its meaning. I had read no esoteric teachings prior to that time. I knew nothing of Masters or Mystical Experiences, nor was I in any way familiar with the Bible or other sacred scriptures of the world.
I did not know that my symbolic, yet literal, “death” was an immediate prelude to the crucifixion of the lower-self ego and the renunciation of all worldly goods and goals.
I had no knowledge of Christian scriptures which speak often of the resurrection of the dead, and certainly there was no understanding of a worldwide resurrection (spiritual Awakening) now taking place among thousands of souls. Thus, I had no way of knowing that my experience would ultimately culminate in the resurrection of a new self joyfully dedicated to serving The Brotherhood of Light as messenger and scribe.
The Masters were guiding my destiny which meant, first, the utter destruction of my former life. By September of 1981, I no longer had anything – no career, no home, no possessions, no finances, no ties to family or friends, no credibility. Bereft!
I was emptied of all I had believed myself and my life to be. There was no longer a “me”. I was nothing, and had nothing-except
THE VOICE. Miraculously, from the very moment of the Master’s departure, I had the Voice of Spirit guiding me. And I HAD MIRACLES!
When freed of everyone and everything, including the very sense of self, the miracles began. And they have never ceased in the twenty-seven years since.
But this is not the place to tell of that amazing story. I am, at long last, writing the full account of this spiritual journey. For now, it is just important to say that on my 50th birthday in 1985, I received from Spirit both the new name of Jenny Carroll for this physical body, and the name of Aquarius for a body of spiritual work which began at that time and has taken many forms. I am now age seventy-two, and thrilled to be embarking on yet another aspect of work with the Masters of Wisdom who have been my unseen Teachers and constant overshadowing presence for so many wonder-filled years.
